The post SagaEVM Chain Pauses After $7 Million Exploit appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News
Saga has paused its SagaEVM chain after a smart contract exploit drained nearly $7 million in assets, forcing the team to stop the chain at block height 6,593,800 while it investigates and fixes the issue. Attackers used a coordinated series of contract and cross‑chain actions to bridge funds out to Ethereum, and Saga is working with exchanges to blacklist the attacker’s wallet. The breach led Saga Dollar to drop to about $0.75 and slashed the total value locked by over half, though the core network remains secure.
